Crafty Christmas

I am currently frantically getting ready for my vacation that starts in the morning. We are celebrating Christmas early this year because that’s the only time I will be around my entire immediate family in December! So this post is perfect timing.

I have another post about closet organization that was going to go up this time, but I realized a Christmas post makes more sense; just in case anyone wants to use any of the ideas this holiday season. So the closet post will be up on December 27th!

I have three Christmas decor ideas. All super adorable and affordable ideas-of course!

First, I did these that I actually had an old roommate in college create for our house. My old roommate had quite the eye for interior design, and I just added a little extra Katie-umph by creating designs that I haven’t seen on pinterest..I am sure they are all still similar though!

Super easy, all you need is a hot glue gun, paint, and popsicle sticks.

Paint all of your popsicle sticks and make sure they dry completely. I waited an hour, but you probably don’t have to wait that long.

Then, you pick your design! I did two huge designs and three little ones. I have a big blank space above my TV and wanted to fill it up for the holiday season!

After I made the design I used dots of hot glue to put them all together. I love how they turned out! I just used command strips with the velcro on them to place them on the walls. They could easily be put up with a nail, but I am trying to put less holes in my walls.

My next DIY was a candy cane candle jar. All you need are some candy canes, a Christmas mason jar (bought this one from Walmart for 50 cents after Christmas last year), and a candle. Then, stick in the candy canes with the curved part at the bottom and swooping outwards.

Once you finish covering the inside with all the candy canes place a small candle inside. I also filled an identical one with corks and added a burlap Christmas bow. Ta-Da! You have two center pieces that probably only took you less than 5 minutes to make!

I bought these plates and chargers after Christmas for 75% off, they were under 2 dollars each. That is my favorite thing to do–shopping after the holidays for the super cheap holiday decor that I can’t afford at full price!

I also have a “Merry Christmas” banner like my Halloween one. I bought this one last year full-price for my Christmas cards. Here is my Christmas card for this year, with my little Halo!

Lastly, I created a Christmas card holder by simply taping Christmas ribbon to my old vintage door and using clothes pins for the cards. I also put my stockings up and featured my own Christmas card!

I hope you all enjoyed this post! I love how cute my place turned out for Christmas this year. It all was super affordable. The snowflakes might be my favorite decor item I have and each probably cost less than a dollar. They are such focal points!

I hope everyone has an amazing week! I will see you all again December 27th 🙂
